Splash

Clearly, one of the best parts of childhood and summer is getting to play in water- whenever and wherever. Teddy and Gingy got a great little splashy pool (complete with a surprisingly fun slide) for their recent birthdays. It was hot last Tuesday, and a perfect afternoon to blow it up and cool off. The kids had a blast and I love the mayhem of some of these photos.

Cecily is a very big fan of sunbathing. She adores spreading out her towel and "relaxing" in the sun. Lucky for Gingy, Cec made room on the big towel.

On Thursday we got up and headed out to visit Abby and Lizzy. We had a fabulous visit, as always, though I neglected to get any photos. (Kara got some fabulous ones, especially of the cool sprinkler the girls got to play with.) We left at three after a very fun and busy day, hoping not to beat the traffic home. It wasn't nearly as bad as it could have been, though that did stop Cecily from crashing in her car seat... my sleeping angel.

Oh right, the hat... At some point a long time ago, I visited Marshall's and got some fun dress up items to stock our toy box. This hat was among those items, and has made occasional appearances (usually on friends' heads) over the years. Last week, Cecily decided she loved it and wore it everywhere for two or three days. The compliments she received were surely incentive to keep wearing it- everyone had something to say about how adorable she looked. And then... she promptly forgot about it.
