It's almost hard to believe that it's been two years since we traveled to St. Augustine, Florida to celebrate my cousin Sasha's marriage to Perry. We had a wonderful time then, and we are so excited that they are now visiting us! To make it even more exciting, they have gorgeous six-month-old twins, Rainia and Tatiana. Maia and Cecily adore their little baby cousins, and have been in heaven helping entertain them, feed them, play with them... They are also head-over-heels in love with Sasha (Maia especially!), making for some very fun days.
We got up pretty early this morning and headed into the city for a Duck Tour. Sasha has never been here before, and we thought it would be a great way for her to get an overview of the city. And Cecily was thrilled to go on one, after hearing Maia talk about then one she went on with Auntie Lisa for years.
Everyone gets ready to board the duck:
Once on board, it was hard for Cecily to hide her excitement.
One of the original WWII Ducks.
The highlight of the tour for both girls was when they had their turns driving the duck while we were in the river. Our driver was hysterical, and had many of us cracking up throughout the tour. He was fantastic with the kids, and rewarded Maia and Cec with an incredible number of stickers when they were the only children on board who correctly responded to the question of who is their favorite baseball team. (Chicago Cubs, of course! I kid, I kid. They both answered Boston Red Sox.)
After the tour we had a wonderful lunch, and then took a little stroll around the city. Cec was thrilled to hold Rainia, and Maia was eager to ensure safety.
On our way back to our car, we passed a living statue passing out fortunes (for a small "donation" of course!). The girls were highly intrigued...
We got back to our car and realized we were exhausted and ready to head home. It was a wonderful day!
