After a long winter of illness and lots of work, we were in desperate need of a vacation. Cecily, Gritty, and I picked Maia up from school and headed to our first destination-- Grammy and Grampy's house. It was a gorgeous afternoon, so we headed right outside to enjoy the sun.
Maia had a great time playing with some trucks, while Cec loved the new feeling of crawling in the grass:
Grampy came home early, and got out a kite (Maia watches one TV program each day while I put Cecily down for her nap. Her current favorite is Toot & Puddle, about two pigs who are best friends. In one episode they fly a beautiful dragon kite. Maia talked about it for weeks, and was beyond thrilled when Grampy presented her with a kite she could fly):
Daddy joined us after work, and we had a lovely evening relaxing. We woke up bright and early the next morning, let the kids play for a bit to get some energy out, and then jumped in the car for a road trip...
