Cecily had her 9-month check-up today. (Could someone please slow this down; the kids are growing up too fast!) She did wonderfully, though it was an easy one-- no shots and no yucky drinks. She weighs 17 lbs 5 ozs, is 28 inches tall, and her head measures 17.5 inches. This puts her in the 13th percentile for weight, 75th percentile for height, and 50th percentile for head circumference. As Daddy says, just call her stringbean! Maia was excited to be at the doctor's office, knowing there was no chance she would get a shot, have some blood drawn, have a long pointy thing stuck into the back of her throat... She loved showing the doctor how she makes Cec laugh, and what a great big sister she is.
The rest of our afternoon (pre- and post- appointment) was spent working on Maia's valentines and playing. Last week Maia's teachers sent home a detailed info sheet on Valentine's Day- each child is supposed to bring in one valentine for each classmate. The valentines are supposed to be signed by the giver, but should not be addressed to anyone in particular. And homemade cards are encouraged. I should have found the time to ask another parent what the deal was, but... we'll see how I did tomorrow!
While Maia was at school, Cecily and I hit up Michael's for supplies. Clearly the day before wasn't the best idea, it was pretty picked over. We managed to find cute cards, nice stamps, and puffy heart stickers. Maia had a great time working on them, though she did get bored signing her name and wanted to be done after she signed half. Here is the artist, hard at work:
I finally managed to get a few photos of Cec napping:
