We have a wonderful friend named Cecily, and kept talking about what a beautiful and unique name it is throughout my pregnancy. After we settled on Evelyn, Cecily stayed in the back of my mind. About a month and a half ago, I finally admitted to Daddy that I wasn't really feeling Evie, and that I thought we should put Cecily, and some other names we liked, back on the table. Much to my relief, Daddy was feeling the same way. And so, we just decided to wait and see the baby. Would she be an Evelyn? A Cecily? A Tuna? (Maia has a baby named Tuna, and we promised Uncle Ad and Sam we'd keep it under consideration.) She turned out to be a Cecily. (And we're really glad... there were three Evelyn's at the playground the other day!) We hope our family and friends think it's as lovely as we do.
Cecily's first ten days have been really wonderful. Maia adores her, and has been very excited to hold her, help us change her diaper, give her sponge baths, etc. We've been making sure she gets to do all her normal activities, and between that and all the special attention she's getting from Daddy, Nonni, Uncle Adam, Grammy and Grampy, etc., it's been a pretty smooth transition to sisterhood so far. Cec is a very calm baby, and we've been enjoying every minute with her. Here are some more photos:
